Cici Donates $35,500 Worth of Underwear to Share the Dignity

Cici has donated 1,000 pieces of underwear to Share the Dignity to benefit those in crisis experiencing period poverty.

“We are thrilled to receive this donation from Cici, this underwear will make a huge difference for the women and girls we help. It is a sad reality that not everyone owns underwear to stick a pad to and I think this is unacceptable anywhere in the world, let alone Australia. Which is why I am so grateful to receive this donation from Cici; when we work together, we are so much stronger,” shares Rochelle Courtenay, Founder of Share the Dignity.

The foundation of Cici Underwear celebrates women supporting women. Cici’s Founder Ellisa Bennett says, “Women Supporting Women drives everything we do, from significant and continuous investment into product development, to encouraging women to embrace their bodies, power, sexuality, and of course to our Pair for Pair policy.”

For every pair sold, Cici donates a pair to women in need. Cici has already donated thousands of pairs of underwear.

The lack of access to underwear is a huge global issue across homeless populations, minorities, and displaced peoples.

Cici and Share the Dignity surveyed their social media followings, asking if they had ever needed new underwear but couldn’t afford it. Unfortunately, 58% of respondents said yes.

The severity of the issue is also shown through a study conducted by Global One, which found that almost 60% of female refugees did not have any access to underwear at all.

There is a lot of awareness around period poverty and supplying sanitary items to those in need, but without underwear its often not much use, which is why Cici partners with charities that provide sanitary items.

Cici’s mission is to provide every woman in the world with the underwear they deserve.

“Pair for Pair is core to Cici’s foundation. This is empowering consumers to directly support women in need with every single pair they buy. This is women supporting women,” emphasises Ellisa Bennett.

Cici has already donated thousands of pairs of underwear to women in need, through foundations and charities such as RSN Foundation and Share the Dignity.
